The Alumni Association of the University School of Law and Legal Studies, GGSIPU traces its origins back to year 2006 when it was first formulated with the teachers of the Institute serving as its office bearers. Being an Institute in its nascent stage, the need for an effective Alumni Association was realised when the first batch of the Institute was about to graduate. It is a registered society under The Societies Registration Act, 1860. It has come a long way since then and the first elections to the Association were conducted in 2009 with the students of the Institute finally at the helm of affairs of the Association. The Association has organised several Alumni meets and events since its inception.
Networking- Having a good ecosystem is a boon for any professional. The Institute’s alumni comprise of very knowledgeable and skilled people and the Institute has produced a number of distinguished alumni in a wide array of fields from being judges, civil servants, academics, advocates, social workers and entrepreneurs. The Association will work towards strengthening this network so as to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and information among its members.
Placement and Internships- If you are working in or running your own company, then we would urge you to help out current students to work and learn under your aegis.
Teaching and Mentoring- One of the initiatives of the Association has been to start a “Lecture Series”. The Lecture Series helps bridge the gap between the alumni and current students and also helps the students benefit from the skills and knowledge of the Alumni especially when it comes to niche areas of Law.
